7 percent of corn, 4 percent of soybeans harvest in Nebraska

Nebraska farmers took advantage of favorable weather conditions last week for corn and soybean harvests.

The USDA says 7 percent of corn is in and 50 percent of the crop is rated good-to-excellent. Four percent of soybeans have been harvested with 47 percent rated good-to-excellent.

Two percent of sorghum has been harvested and 20 percent of dry edible beans are in.

Twenty-two percent of winter wheat has been planted.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 32 percent good-to-excellent.

Topsoil moisture is 40 percent adequate-to-surplus, and subsoil moisture is 35 percent adequate-to-surplus.
