73% of Ohio corn, 67% of soybeans rated good to excellent

The USDA says while crop condition ratings improved last week in Ohio, crop progress for corn and soybeans remained near or behind the five-year average for much of the State.

Seventy-three percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent, with 87 percent silking, and 20 percent at the dough making stage.

Sixty-seven percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with 82 percent blooming, and 48 percent at the pod setting stage.

Sixty-seven percent of pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent shape.
