93% of U.S. corn, 75% of soybeans planted
U.S. corn and soybean planting remains ahead of average.
As of Sunday, 93% of the corn crop is planted, compared to 88% a week ago and the five-year average of 89%, with 78% of the crop emerged, compared to 73% on average, and 74% of the crop in good to excellent condition, a week to week improvement of 4%.
75% of soybeans are planted, compared to 65% last week and 68% on average, with 52% of the crop emerged, compared to 44% on average. In the first rating of the season, 70% of U.S. soybeans are rated good to excellent.
77% of winter wheat has headed, compared to 81% on average, and 3% of the crop is harvested, compared to 2% on average, with 51% of the crop called good to excellent, 3% less than last week.
91% of spring wheat is planted, compared to 96% normally in early June, with 67% of the crop emerged, compared to 80% on average, and 80% of the crop in good to excellent shape, up 6% from a year ago.
66% of cotton is planted, matching the usual pace, with 8% of the crop squaring, a little bit faster than average, and 44% of the crop rated good to excellent, 2% below last year.
93% of rice is planted, compared to 96% on average, and 81% has emerged, compared to 86% on average, with 69% of rice called good to excellent, 8% less than a year ago.
49% of sorghum is planted, compared to the usual pace of 46%, and 64% of sorghum is rated good to excellent.
51% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition, up 1% on the week.
