A lower net farm income expected in MO

Missouri’s net farm income is expected to decline again this year for the second year in a row.

In a new report, the University of Missouri’s Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center says 2024 net farm income is $3.66 billion. However, this is still one of the highest net farm incomes on record for Missouri.

Crop receipts are expected to decline $1.4 billion this year, with livestock receipts unchanged. And the report says a slight reduction in production expenses could mitigate the sting from lower receipts. Direct government payments are expected to increase slightly and crop insurance indemnities are expected to decline.

Missouri’s net farm income is expected to decline again in 2025. Read the report.
