A slight decline in ethanol production, stocks increase

U.S. ethanol production declined slightly last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged one million, seventy-one thousand barrels a day, down 3,000 on the week.

Ethanol stocks increased 3.6% to an 18-week high of 22.9 million gallons.  All areas except the Rocky Mountains and the West Coast increased inventories.

Ethanol exports averaged 196,000 barrels a day, a jump of 72,000 from the previous week, the largest volume increase since the EIA began reporting estimates in May.

There were zero imports of ethanol for the 13th consecutive week.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use projection is out January 12th, 2024.
