Adamski named Wisconsin Farmers Union President

Wisconsin Farmers Union has a new President.  Rick Adamski of Seymour was selected during the reorganization meeting of the Board of Directors Wednesday.

Adamski tells Brownfield addressing consolidation in agribusiness is one of the reasons he joined Farmers Union a dozen years ago. “Seed, fertilizer, equipment, there are fewer and fewer manufacturers of those supplies and farmers don’t have anywhere near as many choices as they did years ago. And then after the farmers produce a commodity, there are few buyers.”

Adamski says he hopes for a seamless transition, and a continuation of the good work already happening at the grassroots, staff, and board levels.

The Adamski family raises grass-fed beef, pastured hogs, and laying hens on their 290-acre farm.

Westby dairy farmer Darin Von Ruden served as Wisconsin NFU president since 2010.  He was re-elected to serve as District 5 Director but has shifted to the role of State Vice President.
