Ag tech needed to feed the world

The president of Purdue University says the ag industry must be allowed to use technology to meet the needs of a growing population.

Mitch Daniels says ag technology is being challenged by consumer’s perception of food production.

“We have to win those arguments even as we improve the precision and the effectiveness of the science itself,” he says.

He tells Brownfield this technology is needed to feed the world now more than ever as the population is expected to exceed 9 billion by 2050.

The good news is that there are breakthroughs everyday,” he says.

Daniels says students at Purdue are helping develop those technologies.
