Ag week is being celebrated in Missouri

Governor Mike Parson made a National Ag Week proclamation at the Missouri Department of Agriculture on Tuesday.

“Agriculture is so important to our state, not only with the products produced, but it’s a way of life,” he says. “I’m glad I grew up on a farm and understand that way of life and understand what’s being done to feed the world.”

Missouri ranks second in the nation for farms at 95,000. The state also ranks in the top 10 nationally for hay, beef cattle, rice, turkey, soybean, corn and cotton production.
