Alice in Dairyland says the Wisconsin State Fair is bridging the gap between consumers and farmers

Wisconsin’s 79^th Alice in Dairyland says the state fair is a perfect way to connect consumers with agriculture.  

Anastasia Poull says the fair food opens the door to education. “Not everyone gets to see some of that background on how your milk gets to your glass or how the burger comes together with our cheese and our beef,” she says.  “So when people come to the Wisconsin State Fair, I hope they get to see a little bit more of that behind the scenes.” 

She tells Brownfield the Wisconsin State Fair has several exhibits that showcase the state’s agriculture industry. “For example, Dairy Lane is one of the areas that highlights Wisconsin Dairy, both our dairy cows and our dairy goats,” she says.  “You can do some interactive educational exhibits. There are also daily milking demos for both of those.” 

Poull says the Wisconsin State Fair provides several opportunities to celebrate.  “There are some amazing agriculture exhibits and events going on in the Coliseum and youth exhibitors as well who are just starting off their journey in agriculture,” she says. 

The Wisconsin State Fair runs through August 16^th.
