Wisconsin will soon learn who will serve as the next Alice in Dairyland.

Ag Secretary Randy Romanski tells Brownfield the one-year public relations position helps people understand where their food comes from. “One of the tremendous values that Alice does every year is make sure that people are understanding and connecting to the important role of agriculture, the place farmers, agribusinesses, and processors have in feeding us and the world.”

Romanski says Alice also helps expose young people to agriculture careers. “Whether on farm, in finance, agronomy, or in a communications or public relations role, so it’s really important to have somebody who’s out there every day talking about the importance of agriculture to Wisconsin.”

The top six candidates are Faith Baerwolf, Kelly Herness, Gabrielle Huitema, Jessica Moor, Anastasia Poull, and Michelle Stangler.  Marathon County is hosting this year’s Alice in Dairyland finals.  The 79th Alice will be chosen Saturday evening in Wausau.
