Allendale sees fewer cattle on feed

Aheadof Friday's cattle on feed update from the USDA, Allendale Inc. sees the smallest as of April 1 total in four years. Allendale Inc. expects placements to be up around 3% because of the bigger than expected cut in March 2008 and marketings are seen down almost 7% from a year ago as smallerplacements from earlier in the year go to market.

Cold storage numbers are also out Friday with Allendale anticipating smaller than average in-movement as this build up phase of the storage cycle comes to an end. Allendale sees in-movement at 1.9 million tons, compared tothe average of 5.9 million.
