An increase in ethanol production

U.S. ethanol production inched higher last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged one million, one hundred, ten thousand barrels per day,

Ethanol stocks were reported at 23.1 million barrels, the largest level since the end of September.  Inventories grew across all regions except the East Coast and the Rocky Mountains.

The Renewable Fuels Association says net inputs of ethanol purchased by refiners and blenders and the volume of gasoline supplied to the market were both up from a week ago.

Ethanol exports averaged 166,000 barrels per day, the largest level since the beginning of September.

The USDA’s updated corn for ethanol use projection is out on January 10th.
