Angus internship deadline is Feb. 5

The American Angus Association has several internship opportunities in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

The American Angus Association Activities and Events Department  internship will allow students to plan and implement educational and social events for members. It is open to all college students – except freshmen. Applicants must be able to work on their own or with a team, and be able to travel. The position starts on or before June 1, 2013.

The Junior Activities Department provides a college sophomore, junior or senior an outstanding opportunity to assist with preparations, communications and correspondence for junior shows and events. Applicants must be enrolled in an agriculture-related major, and be a self-starter who works well with others. This summer internship runs from approximately May through August and requires travel to the 2013 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), Leaders Engaged in Angus Development (LEAD) Conference and other shows and events.

The Communications and Public Relations Department is accepting applications from college juniors or seniors studying journalism, agricultural communications or related fields. Applicants should have strong writing and design skills, in addition to completed coursework in news and feature writing, editing and design. Experience in photography, video and social media is an asset. This summer internship runs from approximately May through August.

Angus Productions Inc. makes a college student part of the editorial team of various publications. This 10-week, writing-intensive internship offers the selected intern an opportunity to participate in producing various publications, including the Angus Journal, the Angus Journal digital replica, the Angus Beef Bulletin (ABB), the ABB EXTRA, the Angus e-List, editorial websites, and social media efforts. The internship will be flexible enough to tailor to the strengths and needs of the intern. Experience in news and feature writing, editing and photography are strongly suggested. The summer internship spans from approximately May through August.
