Another big week for U.S. ethanol production

U.S. ethanol production ended August on a strong note.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production last week averaged 1.087 million barrels a day, up 17,000, as the industry continues to expect solid demand, including the possibility of year-round E15 use and a positive resolution to disputes with the oil industry over the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Ethanol stocks were down 358,000 barrels at 22.703 million barrels.

Corn for ethanol use exceeded USDA projections for the recent ended 2017/18 marketing year, with the next set of supply and demand estimates out Wednesday, September 12th.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Census Bureau reported ethanol and biodiesel exports during July were down on the year, while distillers grain sales were higher.
