Another strong year for U.S. ethanol exports?
The CEO of Growth Energy says 2025 could a milestone year for biofuels trade.
Emily Skor tells Brownfield, “We are excited by this administration’s tough stance on trading markets where we don’t have fair access. Brazil is a very good example. They have an 18% tariff on U.S. ethanol. The administration has actually already pointed to Brazil and its ethanol policy as something they want to take a hard look at.”
She says the industry continues to track the latest tariff developments. “We want to make sure our continued trade with countries like Canada, which our top trading partner, remains. We have a free trade relationship with them. It’s been serving us well and we want to see that continue and thrive.”
Data from the Renewable Fuels Association shows Canada has been the top importer of U.S. ethanol for 46 consecutive months.
Skor spoke to Brownfield at the 2025 Commodity Classic.
