April ethanol, DDGS exports down on month

U.S. ethanol exports were lower in April.

The Renewable Fuels Association says April’s ethanol exports of 172.3 million gallons were down 12% on the month and 8% on the year, largely due to a big decline in movement to Canada.

Canada still claimed the top spot for 49th consecutive month, followed by the European Union, India, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were 894,197 tons, 13% less than in March, primarily to Mexico, South Korea, and Vietnam.

The U.S. imported 42,417 gallons of ethanol from Canada.

For 2025 to date, U.S. ethanol exports are 10% ahead of 2024 at 704.9 million gallons, while DDGS exports are 7% behind last year at 3.58 million tons.

Export demand is influenced by several factors, including the value of the dollar against other currencies, seasonal trends, and geopolitical relationships.
