April soybean crush, corn for ethanol use mixed
U.S. soybean crush and corn for ethanol use numbers were mixed in April.
U.S. ethanol production showed the effects of seasonal maintenance.
The USDA says 425.801 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production, 6% less than in March of this year, but up 1% from April of last year.
Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,630,096 tons, falling 10% on the month and 7% on the year.
The USDA says 202 million bushels of beans were crushed during April 2025, 5 million less than in March, but 24 million more than in April 2024.
Soybean oil stocks fell below both the previous month and last year despite some signs of slower biodiesel usage and questions about policy.
Soybean meal supplies were larger due to slower overall demand.
The USDA’s updated corn for ethanol use and soybean crush projections for the 2024/25 marketing year are out June 12th.
