Arkansas corn and rice harvests nearly done

Nearly all the corn in Arkansas is in the bin, and farmers are focused on harvesting other crops as the dry weather continues. 

Ninety-two percent of the rice has been harvested.

Eighty percent of the state’s soybeans are mature and 59% have been harvested. 

Forty-two percent of the Arkansas sweet potatoes have been harvested, up 6% from a week ago.

Ninety-eight percent of the cotton bolls are opening and 334% of the crop has been harvested.  Fifty-two percent of the cotton crop is rated good, 16% excellent, and 25% fair.

Fifty-eight percent of the Arkansas peanuts have been dug, with 21% of the peanuts harvested. 

Some farmers have started planting winter wheat, as 18% is finished with 2% of the new crop emerging.

Arkansas hay ground is rated 17% good, 43% fair, and 27% poor.
