Average harvest pace in Tennessee continues, soybeans slightly ahead

Another week of dry weather allowed farmers in Tennessee to continue corn, soybean, and cotton harvest.  Corn and cotton harvest are near the average pace, while soybean harvest is ahead of average.

Corn is 88% harvested. 

Soybeans are 60% harvested with 75% of the crop rated good to excellent.  Cotton is 43% harvested with 76% rated good to excellent.

Pastures and the wheat crop are in need of a rain. Pasture conditions declined again this week and are rated 31% good to excellent.  Winter wheat is 35% planted and 13% emerged. 

Topsoil is 36% adequate and subsoil moisture is 40% adequate.
