Axial-Flow 260 series provides increased productivity

Case IH has launched a new combine to help farmers increase productivity during one of their busiest times of the year.

Leo Bose, harvesting segment lead for Case IH, says the Axial-Flow 260 series combine incorporates significant technological advancements and was developed through farmer-driven research.  “One of the features you’ll see on this machine is that it actually has an image of the grain sample coming up through the clean grain elevator, so I can see cracks, brokens, and foreign material,” he says. “Typically, Harvest Command will make the changes, but now you can just reaffirm it as an operator.”

The combine also improves on-row accuracy, minimizes header losses, and the autoguidance systems help maintain on-row accuracy when stalks aren’t present.

Paul Paplow, an Iowa farmer and owner of a custom harvesting business, says the new combine helps reduce operator fatigue and stress. “Harvest Command makes changes to the machine and in the settings counsel as it goes across the field,” he says.  “And I can focus on other things. Because the machine is doing a lot of what you needed to do already, and you don’t have to watch over it 100% of the time.”

Paplow is headed to Texas to start wheat harvest and will kick off his second round of harvests with the Axial-Flow 260 series combine. “For the monitors, last year there were a couple of glitches, and everything should be corrected now,” he says. “And just the comfort. The cab is much better than the 8250s were. The dual displays are really nice simply because you can have all the different functions on two monitors. You’re not flipping back and forth between them. What’s nice about the machines is they kept the simplicity of the machine with all the added technology.”

Growers can also access subscription-free, integrated technology, including the new Case IH FieldOps platform, which will launch later in 2024.

Axial-Flow 260 series combines will be available for ordering in June 2024.
