BASF announces complete seed solutions portfolio
With the integration of Becker Underwood now fully complete, BASF has been able to launch a new tier to the suite of products they offer. Neil Bentley, Director of Marketing for BASF US Crop Protection tells Brownfield Advanced Seed Enhancements brings together the seed treatment technologies BASF already had in their portfolio with new technologies. “These technologies, along with our advanced weed control platform and our advanced plant health platform can be organized in a way and be used by growers that help them get the most from every acre,” he says.
If farmers are trying to decide if utilizing seed treatments is right for their farm, Bentley tells Brownfield they should think about it in terms of emergence and ask themselves questions. Like, “Am I getting all of the seed I purchased out of the ground?” He adds that a 3,000 acre grower with a 5 percent loss in emergence is basically losing 150 acres of productivity.
He says it’s important for farmers to maximize the investment they are making in their seed selection every year.
