BASF launching soybean line
BASF is showcasing its first ever soybean line at the 2024 Farm Progress Show.
Bryan Perry with BASF tells Brownfield…
“Our Xitavo soybean seed brand will be launching 12 varieties this year in a mid-group 2 to a mid-group 4 maturity range,” he says.
Perry says the existing Xitavo yields a 3.4 bushel average increase over other varieties.
“This new class that we’re bringing, we’re seeing about a 1.7 bushel average increase on top of that,” he says.
Perry says BASF is more than just crop protection products.
“We’re showcasing the overall yield potential of the plants, also the total soybean acre from BASF, because we sell more than just seed with Xitavo, it’s the crop protection package with our seed treatment,” he says.
Brownfield interviewed Perry at the 2024 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.
