Bayer introduces FieldView2.0

The next generation of Bayer’s digital farming platform is expected to enter tractor cabs this fall.

Andy Folta, U.S. product marketing manager, says “FieldView Drive 2.0” is their first device upgrade since launch in 2016.

“We’re going to be taking a big step forward in the processing power and the data storage that Drive to is going to have to offer.”  He says, “It’s got twice as much internal storage along with that. It’s also got a really stable connection and it converts serial GPS internally.”

Folta says that internal conversion brings added compatibility with more equipment types and brands.

He tells Brownfield it all means increased farmer efficiency and convenience.

“So the last thing we want farmers to have to do is to stop and to make sure that their data is being collected, or that they’re getting their equipment set up.”  He says, “FieldView Drive 2.0 should make that a much easier process. So, it’s something the farmer doesn’t have to worry about so they can get the data where they want it in a timely manner.”

Folta says data like seeding rates and yield maps are vital for most farming operations.

Farmers should be able to purchase FieldView Drive 2.0 at the Farm Progress Show in August.

Bayer is showcasing the technology as part of their 2024 Crop Science Innovation Update in downtown Chicago.
