Beef 509 Program to be held

Beef 509, an educational program for Ohio cattlemen is going to be held March 1 and March 8.

Emily Griffiths, director of public relations and consumer marketing at the Ohio Beef Council says Beef 509 will cover a number of topics during the consecutive Saturday programs being held at the Ohio State University Animal Sciences building in Columbus.

“And really the Beef 509 program is designed to raise awareness about the food we produce and the reasons why it sometimes misses the mark with consumers palates and producers pocketbooks,” said Griffiths. “The course features lots of interesting topics that are certainly on producers minds including live cattle evaluations, beef harvesting procedures, carcass aging and we’ll have a beef industry update and even a taste panel as part of the program.”

Space is limited, so for those wanting more information or to register for Beef 509 can go here.

The early registration deadline is Friday, January 31.
