“Bids were getting hit”: Minnesota farmer seizes March marketing window
A Minnesota farmer says he capitalized on the March runup in corn and soybean prices.
Nick Peterson of Clear Lake tells Brownfield.
“We had quite a few bids getting hit, which was good because it was just more or less stagnant for so long before that.”
He says some old and new crop corn was marketed.
“It was good all around at least to get some priced because here we were kind of rolling through the winter with quite a bit more (unsold), and if I look at where we’d typically be sitting as far as how much of our crop is being marketed at certain points of the year, we were far undersold.”
Peterson says he’s hopeful there will be more marketing opportunities between now and June.
