The Big Cheese
Yesterday the American Dairy Association of Indiana unveiled another incredible Cheese Sculpture at the Indiana State Fair. Sarah Kaufmann – The Cheese Lady – said when she began to design this year’s sculpture – she said she was going to make it simple. “Here I am – 132 hours later in six days with the sculpture complete,” she says. “It’s darling, if I do say so myself.”
Kaufmann tells Brownfield there’s a lot of detail – and a lot of cheese used in this year’s sculpture. The sculpture showcases the Indiana dairy industry’s Fuel Up to Play 60 program. “There’s all these children in the sculpture and it’s to try to help remind people to make healthier food snack choices, eat healthier, and get up and run around,” she says.
The over 1,200 pound cheese sculpture will be on display at the DuPont Food Pavilion through the remainder of the fair.
