Boyce and Swartz join Ohio Corn & Wheat

The Ohio Corn & Wheat Boards have announced new member appointments.

Sam Boyce has been elected to the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association and tells Brownfield he’s excited to represent young and beginning farmers in policy discussions.

“I felt that it’s very important that we have somebody also on the board that can help represent those struggles and the difficulties that we’re facing as we’re trying to get into the industry, and get started on our own,” he shares.

Boyce raises corn, wheat, soybean, hay, and livestock in Richland County.

Ken Swartz of Wood County will serve on the Ohio Corn Marketing Program and says he looks forward to having a voice in how checkoff dollars are spent.

“How do we tell more people about what we do?” he says.  “So many people just don’t know anything about the organization, how we spend our money. So that’s going to be probably a big goal, transparency in the organization.”

Swartz grows corn, soybeans, and wheat south of Toledo.
