Brazilian digital ag company to expand operations to Indiana

Brazilian-based Solinftec, is expanding operations to Indiana. The digital ag company will invest $50.6 million and create more than 300 jobs by 2022.

Solinftec helps farmers improve ag operations through AI, science, and engineering. The company has technology to monitor farming processes and provide real-time insights that increase crop yields.

The headquarters will be located near Purdue University. Purdue President Mitch Daniels says the Wabash Heartland area, with Purdue, could become a world center of precision agriculture.

Indiana’s agbiosciences sector contributes about $16 billion to the state’s economy each year. And about 65,000 jobs in Indiana are supported by agbiosciences companies.
