Cancer claims life of University of Wisconsin researcher

A University of Wisconsin animal sciences researcher has died. Mark Cook was known as the “chickenologist” and was respected throughout the poultry industry for his work on nutrition and immunology issues. Cook was also a pioneer in having University of Wisconsin discoveries patented and licensed so they could be put into practical use.
Cook passed away from complications of cancer Saturday. He was 61.
