Celebrating the Year of the Farmer

Friday kicked off the 2015 Indiana State Fair.
Governor Mike Pence says the next 17 days isn’t just an opportunity to highlight Indiana agriculture it’s also an opportunity to inspire the industry’s next generation. “A lot of young people that are at the Indiana State Fair might take a look at agriculture related careers,” he says. “We’re making a real commitment in Indiana to bringing career and vocational education back as a priority in every high school in our state.”

Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly says it is fitting that the state fair is celebrating the Year of the Farmer. “It has been our ag community that has kept our economy strong,” he says. “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to everybody here – and I wanted to be here with them to say thank you.”
