Chairman expects some Senate appropriations votes this week

Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby says he is hoping for a Senate vote before the end of this week on appropriations bills important to farmers.

Shelby says the bills would cover USDA, FDA, EPA and Interior Department funding, and set up negotiations with the House on four of the 12 annual spending bills. 

With the U.S. House focused on Presidential impeachment hearings, Shelby told reporters he doubts the Senate and House can finish all twelve spending bills before the end of the year.
