China targets ag equipment in retaliatory measures

China is planning to implement new tariffs on agricultural equipment next week as part of its retaliation to new U.S. duties.

Chinese leaders say President Trump’s tariffs violate World Trade Organization rules and they will be challenging them.

On Tuesday, the country also announced tariffs on liquified natural gas, coal, certain types of vehicles, and is launching an antitrust investigation into Google.

In 2022, China imported about $145 million of agricultural machinery from the U.S.
