China’s soybean commitment brings reassurance to U.S. farmers, says Kansas Soybean Assn CEO
The CEO of the Kansas Soybean Association says China’s verbal commitment to purchase U.S. soybeans helps provide some reassurance for farmers.
Kaleb Little says the deal includes exports sales through 2028. “I think the long term (agreement) is really what is bringing some excitement and stability back to the market.”
He tells Brownfield ensuring that China follows through on its commitments is equally important. “As we see those details come out on paper and what is signed between the two governments, that will in my opinion will help bring that much more clarity to the space and to the marketing.”
On Thursday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China would purchase 12 million metric tons in 2025 and then 25 mmt the following three years.
Little says it’s good news the biggest international customer of U.S. soybean is back in the marketplace to help provide stability.
