CHS confident harvest propane supplies will be plentiful

Farmers concerned about a wet harvest are assured there’s an ample supply of propane for drying grain.

CHS chief financial officer Olivia Nelligan says the cooperative is closely tracking demand.

“So we understand what we’re going to have to have in our supply chain to meet their needs, and we have no concerns in that regard as we look out towards the winter months.”

She tells Brownfield the overall supply of refined fuels is robust.

“So again, no concerns with meeting the needs of our owners as we supply them refined fuels for their businesses. Of course, that abundance of supply is putting margins under some more pressure and affecting our profitability.”

Nelligan says the supply chain is working as it should and CHS can get product to wherever it’s needed.
