CLAAS FarmPoint helps reduce farmer downtime
Keeping farmers running in the fields longer has been one of the biggest success stories for CLAAS FarmPoint.
Patricio Frangella, head of commercial development, says the company relies more on mobile service and parts delivery and less on brick-and-mortar stores. “We put resident technicians where the concentrations of machines that are running, and we serve those technicians with parts runners or vans with parts and support and services,” he says. “And we have a very distinctive model of proactively calling customers to solve customers’ issues over the phone.”
Launched in 2023 in Indiana and Kentucky, the majority of service is done through mobile technicians. Physical dealerships serve as service centers and are located near interstates for easy access. Technicians are based within an hour of most customers.
He tells Brownfield that increases efficiency and lessens downtime for farmers. “Now we’ve been growing to a number of technicians,” he says. “That if the customer has an issue during harvest, customers are surprised to see that we’re only half an hour away or less than an hour away when they make any phone call for support.”
Earlier this year, CLAAS FarmPoint expanded and added a facility in Le Mars, Iowa.
