Clean Fuels Alliance looks to maintain biodiesel and renewable diesel momentum

A biofuel advocacy group is looking to maintain momentum for biodiesel and renewable diesel demand.

Jeff Earl with Clean Fuels Alliance America says 2024 was a record year for the industry, and the groundwork is laid for future success.

“We’ve got some new states that are going to look at some renewable fuel policies, Wisconsin, Kansas, possibly even Virginia, are some of those. And a lot of these are conversations (and) relationships we’ve had for many years and folks are like ‘hey, why don’t we try something here.”

He tells Brownfield the rail industry shows great promise for biofuel consumption with nearly all Class One railroads now members of the Alliance.

“Having them in our membership is really opening up additional doors for us to have conversations on how our industry can help impact driving down carbon emissions, industries like rail who are wanting to decarbonize and biodiesel and renewable diesel make the most sense for them.”

Earl says demand for biodiesel and renewable diesel will also be boosted as more states adopt clean fuel standards.
