The CEO of Clean Fuels Alliance America says he hopes the incoming Trump administration will help grow the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Donnell Rehagen says the RFS is a difference maker for ethanol, biodiesel, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuel.

“Reaching into this next Trump administration will be important for us to convey those points. We’ve made a lot of investments as an industry since President Trump first took office the first time to see this industry grow. We need to see the policies and regulations continue to fall into place to allow that growth to happen.”

Speaking to Brownfield at the 2024 NAFB Convention in Kansas City, he said 2025 will be an important year for the future of sustainable aviation fuel. “I think we’re going to see 2025 be a year of record SAF production in the United States. We have some of our own members who are gearing up that SAF production right now.”

Rehagen says he hopes the Trump administration will commit to the already established goal of three billion gallons of SAF production by 2030.
