Congress is back in Washington D.C.
Congress is back in session this week and South Dakota Representative Dusty Johnson tells Brownfield one of the top items on the agenda is funding the government. He says a continuing resolution is keeping the government funded through December 16.
“The end of the fiscal year was September 30. We should have finished our work then,” says Johnson. “I expect leadership on both sides will play a game of chicken and try to get as much leverage as they can.”
Johnson says more momentum is needed to build biofuels. This is the time of the year when the EPA finalizes Renewable Volume Obligations and lawmakers are monitoring the situation.
“We know home-grown, American grown fuel like ethanol can bring down prices at the pump.”
Congress is scheduled to wrap up for the year on December 22.
