Continue to prioritize fields for harvest

WinField United Agronomist Joe Rickard says growers should prioritize corn fields for harvest because of the extended growing season.

“With some of the weather we’ve had here throughout the year maybe we have some relative maturity hybrids, we may have some that are in the 95 day for corn,” he says. “So, we just need to prioritize harvest as far as what some of those hybrids look like.”

He says growers should continue to scout fields for stalk quality issues.

“Do a push and pinch test on corn hybrids to see what that stalk looks like and how that stalk integrity looks,” he says.

Rickard is based in Beloit, Ohio.
