Corn advancing in South Dakota
South Dakota’s corn is starting to enter its reproductive growing phases.
USDA says 7% of the corn in the state is silking with the crop rated 56% good to excellent.
South Dakota’s soybean conditions are rated 53% good to excellent with 23% of the crop blooming.
Winter wheat harvest has begun and it’s at 9% complete with the winter wheat condition rated 36% poor to very poor. Spring wheat is rated 42% fair with the majority of the crop headed.
Sorghum conditions are rated 53% good to excellent with 24% of the crop headed. Sunflower conditions are rated 48% good to excellent with 81% of the crop emerged.
