Corn planting begins in Kansas

The USDA says corn planting has started in Kansas.

The state’s first crop progress report of the season says 2% of the state’s corn crop has been planted as of Sunday, near 1% last year.

Winter wheat is rated 48% good to excellent with 16% of the crop jointed.
