Corteva files tech theft suit against Inari Agriculture, Inc.
A lawsuit filed by Corteva Agriscience alleges Inari Agriculture used a third-party agent to obtain protected Corteva seeds and illegally export them out of the U.S.
In the suit, Corteva claims Inari also made slight genetic modifications of the biotech traits and is seeking U.S. patents for those modified traits.
Sam Eathington, Corteva’s chief technology and digital officer, says the company invests billions of dollars in the future of agriculture, and theft of proprietary technology sets a dangerous precedent for the industry and harms U.S. farmers.
The lawsuit was recently filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Deleware.
