Corteva lawsuit against Inari will move forward

A federal court in Delaware has ruled Corteva Agriscience can proceed with its lawsuit against Inari Agriculture.

According to court records, US District Judge John Murphy denied Inari’s motion to dismiss the case on Monday.

In September 2023, Corteva accused Inari of using a third-party agent to obtain protected Corteva seeds and illegally export them out of the U.S. In the suit, Corteva also claimed Inari made slight genetic modifications of the biotech traits and was seeking U.S. patents for those modified traits.

In a statement last fall, Sam Eathington, Corteva’s chief technology and digital officer, said the company invests billions of dollars in the future of agriculture and theft of proprietary technology sets a dangerous precedent for the industry and harms U.S. farmers.
