Crop conditions decline in South Dakota

In South Dakota, USDA says corn and soybean condition ratings declined 2 to 3% the last week of July.

Corn is rated 67% good to excellent with 72% of the corn is in dough stage, in-line with the average. Soybeans are now rated 68% good to excellent with 43% of the state’s soybeans are setting pods, behind last year’s pace and the average.  

Winter wheat harvest is 86% complete, with spring wheat harvest 39% complete, both ahead of average. Spring wheat condition is rated 75% good to excellent.

USDA says sorghum conditions are rated 66% good to excellent with under three-quarters of the crop coloring.
