Dairy Business Innovation Funds released by administration

Several farmers and processors will get the promised reimbursements under the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grant program.

The funding was held up by the Department of Government Efficiency over a week ago but was released.  The program, which helps businesses use targeted grants to grow and develop new products had 420 grant applicants in limbo nationwide.  Overall, 28.6 million dollars in promised reimbursements were held up by the Trump administration.  In Wisconsin alone, nearly 6.5 million dollars was held up in the current round of the program.

Congressman Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) issued a statement saying, ““I am thrilled that USDA has resumed DBI Initiatives funding, which is crucial to the success and well-being of Wisconsin’s dairy industry. Our dairy farmers and processors work incredibly hard, and I commend Secretary Rollins for her swift action to ensure its continuation.”
