Dairy cattle shows give opportunities to market
World Dairy Expo is not only the place to learn about technology, new products, and best practices, it’s a competitive, week-long show featuring the best dairy animals.
Mike Marion is the supervisor for the Red and White Dairy Show. He tells Brownfield about 26 hundred cows and heifers started arriving a week ago and all except a few Junior Holstein show animals will be on display through Friday. “There’s been some really awesome animals, whether it’s been the heifer shows or the cow shows so far. I mean, you walk through the barn and you’re just in awe of the quality and the overall show itself. It’s always fun to be here.”
Marion says the competitors work hard to prepare and show their cows. “When you do well, it’s a great marketing opportunity for the farm and it’s great camaraderie.”
Marion says World Dairy Expo is an opportunity to market the genetics through the world-class cattle shows.
