Defending property rights to protect rural communities

Private property rights remain a priority.

Shad Sullivan, who chairs the property rights committee for R-CALF and raises cattle in Colorado and Texas tells Brownfield, “Every issue that we work on at R-CALF USA is all about liberty.”

He says defending property rights is crucial.  “Those issues affect local, rural communities,” he says.  “That’s what we’re trying to keep alive here.”

Sullivan says this is an issue that can unite all farmers and ranchers.  “Are you going to be pro-America or pro-corporation,” he says.  “These issues that we see as a result of concentration are in every ag industry. And so if we can get people to understand that at the very top of this, what matters most is our ability to produce how we see fit, I think that is a bridge that brings us together.”
