Delegates focus on UAVs
Illinois Farm Bureau delegates spent much of their session debating policy on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Mark Gebhardt, executive director for governmental relations with IFB says the utilization of UAVs are becoming very popular in agriculture. “With it comes with the sort of lack of regulation or policy of how those UAVs could be used,” he says.
Delegates set policy that suggests the organization work with the FAA to avoid regulations that would prohibit the use of UAVs in agricultural production.
That, along with other policy recommendations will be taken to the American Farm Bureau’s policy session ahead of its annual meeting next month.
