Demand for E15 could increase opportunities for higher blends of ethanol
A policy expert says year-round E-15 could lay the groundwork for additional higher blends of ethanol.
“E15 is really a good proof point for consumers.”
Chris Bliley, senior vice president for regulatory affairs, with Growth Energy says year-round approval of E15 could help grow demand for E30 and E85. “When it’s offered and consumers see the price differential, we really see those blends do well.”
He tells Brownfield there’s another factor to consider. “It’s also really important to provide some certainty for flex fuel vehicles. Can we inject that back into the debate? That will be a discussion that we continue to have too.”
Bliley says California has been a great example where demand has increased for higher blends.
Brownfield interviewed Bliley at the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop in Omaha, Nebraska.
