Distillers Grains Symposium is coming to Des Moines

The Annual Distillers Grains Symposium is coming to Iowa for the firsttime. The event will take place April 22nd and 23rd at the Des Moines Marriot Downtown.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association is co-sponsoring the symposium. Lucy Norton, managing director of Iowa RFA, says one of the topics will be new processing technology.

“Such as corn oil extraction, which is one way the ethanol industry is diversifying,” Norton says. “That’s going to change the makeup of the co-products that could make it more conducive to certain species.”

Norton says the symposium is agreat opportunity for Iowa’s livestock industry to learn from national experts on the advantages of feeding distillers grains.
